Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get a compatible MICR cartridge?
Are compatible cartridges inferior to new ones?
Besides saving up to 60%, am I really helping the environment by using compatible cartridges?
Will using compatible cartridges void my warranty?
LaserCare
does something that most other compatible toner manufacturers don't do.
We replace the drum and wiper blade in EVERY compatible
toner cartridge that we sell you. These are the two most important
components of the cartridge. When shopping for a compatible toner
manufacturer, ask them what they do to their cartridges. If they don't
offer the fact that they replace the drum and wiper blade EVERY TIME
they produce a cartridge, you're not getting the best quality cartridge.
LaserCare accepts VISA, MasterCard, check and will set up an account for you after completion of an acceptable credit application. And, of course, we will accept cash.
Can I get a compatible MICR cartridge?
Yes, MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) cartridges for printing and encoding checks are available for most printers in compatible form at INCREDIBLE savings and with the greatest dependability.
Are compatible cartridges inferior to new ones?
No, there should be no difference in the print quality or page yield of our compatible toner cartridges. We use toner and replacement parts that meet or exceed the OEM standards. You will usually get 50 to 100 pages more from each cartridge as we add a little more toner than the original contains.
Besides saving up to 60%, am I really helping the environment by using compatible cartridges?
Definitely. Each discarded empty laser printer cartridge adds approximately three pounds of unnecessary waste to our landfills. Waste that will take as long as 10 centuries to decompose. It is estimated that 100 million laser printer cartridges and 400 million ink jet printer cartridges are produced each year. Using the empty cartridges over again would save 4 million cubic feet of landfill space each year. Compatible toner and inkjet cartridges not only save the consumer money, it also makes a substantial positive impact upon the environment.
Will using compatible cartridges void my warranty?
Using Compatible Cartridges will
not void your printer warranty.
It is illegal for your printer manufacturer to
require you to use a particular brand of cartridge, in the same way that it
would be illegal for an automobile manufacturer to require that you use a
certain brand of gasoline or oil in your car. The Original Equipment
Manufacturer of your printer cannot void your warranty simply because you
have decided to use another brand of cartridge for better quality and to
save money.
This is set forth in the Magnuson-Moss Warranty - Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act (Act of January 4, 1975, Public Law 93-637, 88 Stat. 2183-2193; 15 U.S. Code, Secs. 2301-2312) which states in Section 102 (3) (c), "No warrantor of a consumer product may condition his written or implied warranty of such product on the consumer's using, in connection with such product, any article or service (other than article or service provided without charge under the terms of the warranty) which is identified by brand, trade, or corporate name..."
Hewlett-Packard clearly states in its warranty that "the use of non-Hewlett-Packard toner cartridges does not affect either the warranty or any maintenance contract..."
